It includes a preface by Maria DiElsi; a foreword by the Editor of Photo Review and The Collector, Stephen Perloff, and a wonderful essay by Jeanette Artway Jimenez, Artway's daughter. The essay is filled with touching stories and insights into the life and soul of Alexander Artway. Text and image combine to highlight Artway's remarkable story: his escape from a battlefield during the Russian Revolution, his European travels, his arrival in New York City in 1922, his high seas adventures, and his relationship as an architect to some of America's greatest architectural feats.
